The Russian Navy (Russian: Военно-Морской Флот Российской Федерации (ВМФPФ) or literally "Military Maritime Fleet of Russia"; VMF) is the naval branch of the Russian Military. It appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Russian Navy was formed in 1992 from the Commonwealth of Independent States Navy, which itself was formed from the Soviet Navy in 1991.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]
The Russian Navy first appeared in trailers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It is seen in the level "Hunter Killer". Dozens of cruisers engaged US ships in combat in New York harbor. In the level the player is tasked with placing a mine on a Russian Navy Oscar II-class submarine, and eliminating its crew. At the end of the level, as the player makes their escape, the New York harbor is seen filled with destroyed Russian and American ships. The Russian Navy also briefly appears in "Iron Lady" in and along the river Seine during the Battle of Paris.
